Another good session

Again about 15 people turned up, this time to do the rounds on Bill Pinder's patch. Bill is standing for the St Oswalds ward in Ossy - that's the West End area, Knuzden and even goes over to Belthorn. We concentrated on the Knuzden estate which is huge, much bigger than I'd thought it was. But with the number of people that turned up we did it in no time. I was again paired up with Greg but not because we were knocking on doors this time but because we were deemed to be amongst the fittest so we could tackle the hilly bit (a lot of the Councillors are somewhat ageing a little).

It might have been done within an hour but it was a very cold way to spend an hour. Roll on April and May when campaigning is done in nicer weather. Next week Immanual Ward - that's where PB actually lives. I wonder if I'll be the one lucky enough to post a leaflet for Collette through his letter box, I hope so!

Had a fantastic meeting earlier this week with the head of programming at Radio Lancashire. Oswaldtwistle Players are working in partnership with Radio Lancs to produce a dramatisation of Peter Whelan's play, Accrington Pals. It's going to be recorded in late May and broadcast on July 1st which is the 90th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme in which over half of the Pals were killed.

Also, talked to him about doing a documentary about one of the MPA projects and I was invited on to do a three hour show during International Women's Week to represent HWF. Sometimes, when you go into a meeting with someone for the first time you might know what you want to get out of it but you never know how it's going to go - this one went even better than I'd hoped for. I was buzzing when I came out. I wanted to go back in and pitch more ideas but I might just have out stayed my welcome if I'd done that.

The Accrington Pals/Oswaldtwistle Players thing is possibly the best because I'm working on a few other Accrington Pals projects at the moment and it's all slotting in nicely.
