I prefer shopping online, there is no chance of meeting some miserable old sod telling me about his operations, then bragging about using inconvenient transport just because he can.

a lot of that is because they are lonely people and need to talk to someone and you might be the first person they have spoke to for days. it might feel inconveniant to you as it does to me as i quite enjoy my own company who certainly prefers being a loner than being in big groups of folk.
