Asbestos

At least they are building what we called "negi" tents to keep all the fibres in the area they are striping so that it dosnt get out in to the comunal air. have they got decontaminatin units near by for when they head for a brew or their pieces? If they are pro's and are good at the job they are doing you are safe but do ask how well sealed the tent is and what are they sealing it with apart from staples?

Not being nosey but have worked with bug removal on an industrial scale and know how lethal it is.

If u call this posh industrial caravan towed on back of their truck a decontamination unit - then yes:D

They are stapling it & sealing it with thick black tape, & they were very thorough about it & they have the air machine with the big tubing on the go as well as open windows doors, so confdent that they are thorough & pro's:D

Got the asbestos men in this morning, taking out old emmersion heater cupboard in bathroom & a panel in the kitchen, so

ie built in wardrobes & even asbestos fibre in some of the walls, which they arent taking out [i'd have to move out:eek:] they say its safe because it isnt broken.

i didnt realise it could be in built in wardrobes or emmersion heaters. ive heard of it being mixed with artex and therefore on the walls. does anyone know where else it may be lurking

Yeh spinner in in builts its in panel form, the bathroom cupboard is its mixed with cement, have some of the walls surrounding it with % asbestos in, if its got white fibre dust - thats asbestos.

Agreed. They are doing it properly. The air machine is to keep the tent at a lower preasure than the area outside hence "negi". Any PVA glue around to be sprayed on the inside of the tent to catch stray fibres?

even though youve wet mopped the place just to be on the safe side it might be better if you wear a mask for a few days if you are going to vacuum the house. there might still be some dust around .

If your vac has a Hepa filter -that helps

They may actually clean that area up themselves with a being a tiny risk - or is that me hoping :rofl38:

I dont i have a bagless cleaner so really wouldnt want to use that as it would still be somewhat in my hoover after emptying mmm will ponder that be worth getting new hoover for normal & this for these jobs:rolleyes:

most bagless cleaners have hepa filtration...it should say on your cleaner, have a look, it filters out allsorts
