Asda Car Park

The new one will be open in rawtenstall soon. Perhaps after they open that they will double deck yours if thats possible.

I use Asda every month - I buy things there to bring back to London because it's so much cheaper - whisky, coffee, pasta, etc. End up coming back with a trolley load. However, I do admit I have had difficulty getting in and out of the car park at busy times. There is a case for making a new exit road into Electricity Street to relieve the congestion at the main exit, but then you might well have to have a set of lights at that junction as well for times of heavy traffic. Simplest thing is to go early morning.

(P.S. I rarely buy milk, because we both drink our tea without, and himself drinks his coffee black - but I find Ossy General Stores great for both, and just at the end of the road.)

I've only been to Accy Asda once or twice.. But I know why.
Rossendale Asda is much more orginised, and the exits/entrances to the car parks are a lot better.

I will try not to knock the Asda down there as a did visit it a few times while I was down and its heaven compared to the pokey one we have in Falkirk.
they have supermarkets in Falkirk? the one we have though its taken em 20 yrs to improve the entrance/exit and they haven't why they could not have separate exit at electricity street the lord only knows. but still cannot get over Falkirk having a supermarket.:D

well i could not agree with you more asda at accrington as gone more hard work now they have re vamp,t it but yet you try to get in the car park is hard work now than what it use t to be and the price,s of the food as gone up as well thats why i have gone back doing my shopping at morrisons at blackburn

I don't think the car park is an improvment. People seem to be all going along the same bit now and it's harder to pull out of some parking places as there doesn't seem to be room to reverse without something coming up behind you. I'm sure it could have been planned better perhaps with an entrance and an exit. Apparently people have been making their own exit and driving over the garden bit next to the Electricity Street/Hyndbrn Rd corner.

I think Asda car park has no way improved, like a lot of other people I think an exit onto Electricity st. would have been a vast improvement

Asda carpark is horrendous and is definitely not an improvement. The speed humps are unnecessary and too high, it is difficult to reverse out of parking spaces. If you park at the Electricity St end you have to drive all of the way round the car park in order to get out. I would say that this new car park is far worse than the old one and I can imagine it being a nightmare at Xmas..

Why? that would still exit on to Hyndburn road, no improvement.

Asda seem to have invested very heavily in this refurbishment, it's not the best solution but, could be HBC will not allow any other or further development on Hyndburn road ;)

I know when my hubby used to fish on the water near Asda the committee applied for a car park only to be told no way cause it would have to have the entrance/exit onto Hyndburn Road, so maybe this is why Asda's car park is the way it is.

But one way in and one way out might stop people geing in the way of other people trying to reverse out of spaces. Everybody wouldn't be trying to go the same way. It flowed a lot better before he improvement.

Would it not mean yet another set of traffic lights, on a road that is already grid locked at certain times of the day.
