Ashes Tickets Wanted.

Sparkologist

I am Band

Later this year, Lettie and I are off to Australia to see in the New Year in Sydney, then spend about 3 weeks touring New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

The main reason for us travelling at this time is to see England play Australia in the last Ashes Test at Sydney, from Tuesday 2nd of Jan to Saturday 6th of Jan. We also hope to see a couple of One Day Internationals, at the MCG in Melbourne, on Friday 12th of Jan and also at the Gabba, in Brisbane, on Friday 19th of Jan.

Does anyone in the world of Accyweb know of any pairs of tickets for sale for these dates? I am willing to pay for costs over the cover price of the ticket incurred in the purchase of tickets, but I cannot afford to pay the ridiculous prices that some of the English touts and Aussie scalpers are already asking.

Can anyone please help? :)

You lucky sods! Wish i could help with the tickets but it sounds like the aussies are going to make it very difficult to get tickets. I heard on the radio this morning that someone was selling some for mega bucks!
Hope you have a great time and good luck...

Nice you getting your advert sticky.... how come all urgent ones dont go top.... guess its who ya know eh :)

Have ya tried http://www.barmyarmy.com/cricket/forum.asp
I havent looked but If there owt like official england (footy) supporters club then ya get tickets cost price..

I have been to hundreds of England (footy) games and if no ticket I look out for england supporters coaches at services to the point of pulling into services looking for them hehe ... and they usually have spare if someone not turned up and they never sell at a profit.. that one of my tips gone out the window oh hum...

Hope ya get sorted :)

It’s not a case of favouritism, it’s a case of, just ask and we‘ll try to help. We are not mind readers. what’s urgent to one may not be to others.
We are here to help and if ya cant be bothered to ask, then tough. :D

:)

Thats it len.. just quote the one bit to make me look bad and not the bits where i try to help and wish them well eh... FFS :( lighten up.. it wasnt an attack.. it even had a sodding smiley which you quoted...

Hey. Please don't go getting Len into trouble, Mr K, Sir. Like he said, all I did was ask. :o :D

Thanks for the link to the Barmy Army site. It is possible to buy tickets from them, provided you enroll on one of their package holidays, which proves considerably more expensive than doing things independantly.

We have a few irons in the fire, over in Oz, but as yet there is nothing forthcoming. I'm prepared to accept tickets from the devil... We'll discuss personal terms later. :D

Lens a moderator.. they like getting in trouble. thats what attracts them :)

Hope ya get sorted.. I am off to Germany on Monday.. ticketless but I will probably have a whale of a time wiht the other thousands of ticketless fans... not like in oz for cricket :)

Enfield is my local club. I'll see you there, weather permitting.
Like the aftermath of most cricket matches, I can feel a hangover coming on. :D

I took pics of there last 20/20 t'was fun ... some other games as well lately.. ahve a looksy ....if ya havent already :)

Hehehehe:D :D :D

we are going to the ball Cinders!!!!!!

One of our Aussie contacts has come through... We are now the proud owners of 2 tickets for MCG one day international between Aus and England on 12th January......:engsmil: :engsmil:

Thanks Kipax.... I'm all excited now. Unfortunately tickets for Sydney and the Gabba were sold out, but evidently cricket does not go down as well in Melbourne so at least we've managed to get tickets to one of the one day internationals...:D I am not a cricket fan and have never been to a match, but Sparks loves it and it should be a really good day out for him.....Who knows, I may enjoy it and become a fan.:engsmil: :engsmil:

Not a cricket fan myself.. I couldnt sit and watch a game.. but then I am the type who cant sit on a beach doing nothing... I can photograph a game of cricket as that constitutes doing summat :)

A one day match should be better for a first timer IMHO and in australia I imagine its not as relaxed and quiet as here...should be fun and at the end of the day its another experience for you to tick off ... I would say enjoy but I bet ya will hehe

Well done Lettie!!!

The reason why tickets are still available for Melbourne is because the ground has a capcity of 100,000, but Sydney has a seating for 43,000.

More tickets are being released next week, in a drip-feed manner, so that the Ticketmaster servers don't get overloaded & go tits-up again. Here's still hoping...

:engsmil: Get in There!:engsmil:

We now also have a pair of tickets to the 1st day of the 5th Ashes Test, in Sydney, on the 2nd of January 2007.

There is one slight problem, I think the tickets are on Yabba's Hill, where sledging is the national pastime. I'll be giving it lip & giving it large to the Ockers. I know... I'll teach 'em a song, "God save your gracious Queen".

I'm so excited, I won't sleep tonight! :D

Hehehe....

I have just had the email confirming our tickets....:D God only knows where we're sat but I don't care. It should be a bonzer day out..:engsmil: :engsmil:

That's two nights without sleep... :D

I have just managed to aquire a pair of tickets for the best seats in the house at the Gabba, for an England v Australia One Day International, on 19th of Jan next year. Mission accomplished!

:engsmil: Get In There!:engsmil:

Well done Sparks...:D :D :D

That's one game in each city..... I suppose we'd better get round to organising some transport soon..:D
