Back home.

It has been a long day.
We were up just after five this morning, had to have the cases outside the room for 6am...well, that's what we were told. They were still there when we went ot breakfast at 7am......there were only two porters moving the luggage of 120 guests......they were working their cakes off.
We were on the road for 8am and on the ferry by 9am.
We have had a beautiful few days, but the weather must have known we were coming home today as it was cloudy and threatening to rain....it doesn't feel nearly so bad setting off for home when the weather looks a bit iffy.
We met some lovely people....all old codgers, but they knew how to have fun...dancing in their sparkly shoes...none of this modern stuff.....all waltzes, quicksteps and foxtrots.......how I envied them their abilities to come alive to the music.....me, I've got two left feet of different sizes and the sense of rhythm of a hippo.....so as you can no doubt guess I did not venture onto the floor.
I have unpacked and put my things away....washing to be done tomorrow.
More about our trip then. I need my bed!

agree about the "old codgers" knowing how to have a good time, went to the rhine valley over 20yrs ago n coach was full of em,we thought-what have we let ourselves in for? was one of the best holidays we ever had. good to have ya back.:)

I'd like to say it is good to be back...and in a way it is - but I could have had another few days without any problem......Why is it you have to come home when you are having a fine time???????
