Back in February....

Way back at the beginning of the year.....early February, I posted a blog where I said that life didn't guarantee happy endings.
I told you all about a very posh wedding we attended in Oz, some four years ago.
The blog ended by me telling you that this lovely couple had split up, decided to go their separate way and put their house on the market......and how sad I was, that something that started out so full of hope and optimism had ended in failure.
I was very sad for the couple in question, because they seemed like the perfect match....a golden couple even....and their marriage had been blessed by the arrival of a daughter....the fact that there was a baby involved saddened me even more......you see I am one of those old fashioned folk who believe that the best background for a child is with a Mother and a Father.
Today, my hubby made a phone call to our family over the other side of the globe.....and I'm going to say this very quietly........they are back together again!
This news has made my day.
They are going to work at their partnership and try to make a go of it.
The young man in question is going for counselling, to address the issues he had over his new role as a father(he somehow felt that he was now relegated to second place in his wifes' affections).
I like a bit of good news now and then...and I like to share it with you too.

Thats wonderful news! For both the couple AND the lil girl.
A few of my friends blokes have walked out in the first few months because they have felt 'left out'....personally i think its pathetic but thats just my opinion.
I do believe the first few months of having a new baby are the most trying and push a relationship to its limits....but still,no excuse.

Yes, I am very pleased that they are giving it another go....and more than a bit surprised that this young man didn't expect the changes in his lifestyle...he didn't strike me as that immature......and they knew one another for something like 4 years before they got hitched...and had been together for two years.....so I was very surprised when it all went pear shaped.
I wish them all the luck(and love) in the world.

Awwww that's great news, and not that un common for the dad to feel this way either...... Must be hard, Mum's do go OTT with their motherly instincts ..... but we can't help it.

You are right slinky...and they get less attention because the new mum is often tired with all she has to do.
So hubby gets less attention, but more sleep..when sleep isn't really what he is wanting ;)

nice to hear a couple that has the sense to try n work things out. more a novelty these days i think.sincerly hope they do,
