Banned

I was just wondering as to what happens when somebody gets banned from the site. Is the individual free to re-join under a different name or is their IP address blocked?

Just curious, thats all.

I think their IP is blocked, tho depends how long the ban is set indefinately or temporary ban, which i dont get

well surely if thier ip is blocked they wouldnt be able to even view the site ? just guessing

if they were really bothered to get back on they could just block their ip address and back on they go...

IP bans only work if you have a static IP. Most people's IP changes each time there modem/router/whatever connects to the net.

Mine is static.

If a banned person tries to join again with a different IP and they are discovered to be the same person they'll only end up banned again. It has happened.

I guess it helps if you don't have annoying traits like spelling 'the' teh

All I know is that those that need banning for breaking the rules etc get banned.
