'Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday, and all is well'.........I don't quite know where that quotation comes from......I suppose I could 'google' it, but it wouldn't make it any more true.
I remarked in an earlier blog that it is the current exam season, and that lots of people would be swotting away, burning the candle at both ends...trying to cram information into their tired brains in preparation for being tested.
Then, once the exams are over, the nailbiting begins........students at every get together will 'post mortemise' the exam......comparing each others answers....and then it is automatic to think that you have got hold of the wrong end of the question........and you are doomed to a referral and the subsequent resit.
I can recall it all like it was yesterday. Yet, in truth it was 32 years ago.
So I have a bit of understanding and some sympathy.
I'm telling you all this because my daughter has just completed her end of second year exams at Uclan.......she was most disheartened, and felt that she would be going in to Uni in July to do resits......but today she received two unmoderated results........and they were the two subjects that she felt she hadn't done very well in..........and Hallelujah....she has passed, and with better marks than she thought she would get.
When she did the exams she told me that she thought she would be referred......I told her that what was done was done and that no amount of worrying, or picking over the bones was going to change anything......and I feel now that these comments may have sounded harsh and unfeeling......bald facts sometimes are a bit clinical......so what I would like to say now is.......Well Done......I had faith in you, because I have seen how hard you have worked.......and even though I know that just hard work doesn't pass exams....it does go a long way to influencing the outcome.
I reckon that now she might be able to catch up on some of the sleep she has been missing.
