I remember the funnies and must admit that I did go there!!!
I have never admitted this before in public but............. I was barred from the Funnies. It was so not my fault.:( There was a lady who used to frequent the place and I use the term lady loosley. She was a bit of a bugger and used to try and cop off with other women. She fondled my bum one night in the toilets so I thumped her. As she was a regular and knew all the staff, they barred me instead (I never lived it down)
I used to work behind the bar in the Cock and Bull and Corners. I did the odd friday night when I was only 15/16. Billy Mac used to look after me and keep the weirdos away. Loved that pub.:D

The Blockade was one of the best pubs in Accy. Best juke box for miles. The back room ("Hell's Kitchen") always had a strange aroma. People tell me it was due to the smoking of herbal cigarettes.

yeah remember the strange aroma of the blockade.abit similar to the duke of welly these days, when i go in to pick customers that same aroma is around
