Best Pub

Been to the Oaklea today before and after the match.  Much better than it used to be.  I dont go to the Crown (to busy), but I sometimes go to the Grey Horse, it was closed after todays game anyone know why?

The Swan, Bridge, or Baileys.  But for a quite drink The Albion at Clayton, or The Greyhound which has great beer for £1.29 per pint. Talking of good beer, what about the Kings, Abbey or maybe the refurbished Cannine club.  But for shear enjoyment, THE VOODOO has my best pub vote at the moment.  Hic!!

Dont drink much these days but the George pub on Blackburn Road used to be good. Do excellent meals too.
The broadways good for a quick drink when in town and my best mate highly recommends the Hope and Anchor.

Only really go to the pub on match days.. gotta say Crown is a good pub.. Landlord top bloke and scored a cracking goal for stanley fans v shrews fans on sat morning :)

George on blackburn rd used to be good... its a bit of a dive now.. rippped smelley seats.. quite scruffy... not as nice as it used to be.

King street is well worth a visit.. sometimes end up in there after the game on a sat night.. big room at back usualy has a turn on.. no no calm down tracy i didnt mean turn on.. i meant a turn.....on ....:)

Id say that King Street is worth a visit - they serve excellent draft beers and the bar staff are friendly.

Also the Abbey on Bank Street has improved tremendously since the new landlord and landlady took over.

We now go in every Sunday after football and they put food on for us which is excellent.

They is always something going on during the week and generally speaking it's a very friendly pub.

dont know - good question anne.

i was in the abbey last night aswell, i would have asked them if I had known!!

Chris, Greyhorse was closed after game because of the trouble outside there on Saturday before game

glad you like King Street Ruud.

its a very nice place and as mentioned the staff are polite and friendly.

most importantly though the beers excellent and cheap and they dont attract any idoits either. Oh and they are building a kitchen so food will be available soon aswell!!

traceyb33 - it sure wasn't me wearing a suit!! I tend to go to the Abbey dressed a bit more casual!!
;D

Be careful of the King street when your knackered... them settees are a bugger to get out of :)  Hmmm maybe this should be in the ...You know when your getting old thread :)

i dont know HarryX - im only 23 and ive experienced similar problems!!

it was a birthday do though so that's my excuse.......

adi what do you mean nothing better than a man in a suit! :o

a man in a suit does nothing for me!!!!!

A sweeping statement there adi :)  I could say a woman in a boiler suit does nothing for me.. But stick Kylie naked into one and I could change my mind  ;D

i can agree with the Kylie bit HarryX but I can hand on heart say that a man wearing anything or nothing really does NOT DO anything for me!!! :o
