Bits & Bobs

Anyone living in Accrington got a view on the Pitch at the stadium. How cold is it and are the soil conditions OK.....ie soft and playable? Any snow or snow forecast today or tonight? Thinking about Saturdays home game.......

Pitch inspection today , yesterday pitch was thawing covers are ok for up to -3 .They trained yesterday on the astro turf as pitch at the Hub was frozen. Another night of light frost the game should be on.

Popoola back from Chorley and available for selection, should be fit as he's played quite a few games for Chorley. Dan Martin is back but with a knee problem. There will be opportunities for some of our lesser known players in Saturday's match-day squad with our list of growing absentees. Wonder if loanee from Bolton can play Center-Back .........I'm sure I've heard him say he started out in that position....

Charlie Caton starts up-front tonight for Hartlepool at the Mazuma Stadium against the Shrimps and could help send them down!..... He is still one of ours.....isn't he?

I was sad to see Morecambe relegated to the National League North on Saturday. It's been likely for the last few weeks that wouldn't get enough points. Lets hope the owners are able to support the club financially while they re-group and that the additional costs of terminating players existing contracts and the overhead costs of maintaining the Mazuma Stadium don't put them out of business altogether. Many of the clubs in the NLN are semi-pro and it's difficult to survive on NLN income with big stadia and professional players wages.

Morecambe, although relegated, will be retaining their full time status next season.

I really hope that works out and that the owners have "Holywood Style Deep Pockets".

My current home-town team is Chorley........who manage to survive, a bit like Stanley on a small budget. So I hope to get to see the current version of the Shrimps next season.

Just wondering can anyone else get onto the quiz on fishy site/app - the headline's there about naming Stanley's opening day scorers but when I click on, nothing happens??

Has anyone else heard that the EFL are introducing "new rules" to try and curtail time-wasting at throw-ins, and keepers holding onto the ball too long and also feigning injury to slow down the match when they are winning? Be interesting to see how the early games go and what if any action referees take....

Has anyone else noticed that where we have a Tuesday game following a Saturday fixture that the BBC record the Tuesday game preview on the Saturday following the post match interview. It seems a waste of time to me as the manager has no new information to offer about players etc.......very lazy reporting.....
