Well what a day i had in Blackpool Victoria Hospital .
The private ambulance picked me up at 11-30am as we had to pick another lady up on the way she lived in Blackburn and her apointmant was for 1pm mine was for 1-45pm.
instead of going straight there we took the back roads there going through places i did not know existed .
anyway we got there for 12-30 ish and the driver parked up at the main entrance which was fine for the lady but i had as i found out a marathon to do as i had to go to the other end of the hospital i got to what was called annex U and there was a notice there saying "Please take a seat and a nurse would be with you in a short while " so i sat i got there at 12-45 pm and did not see a nurse till gone 1-30pm then it was a wait till they got sorted out and booked everyone in .
A nurse called me in at 2-20pm the usuall things how was i and she took blood pressure and then some blood then she dicided to check my pulse which she could not find after she said right you need to go for an ECG but first you have to see the Doctor so can you take a seat outside 3pm doc came out and called me in we had a natter and i signed the form for a ANGIOGRAM i was a bit worryed as on the paperwork was 1 of them tabs they put on you when you are admitted to a ward anyway after i signed my life away he explained all the things that could go wrong eg; heart attack a stroke bleeding at the site ect and then said right off for the ECG i asked him where it was he said "i dont know ask outside" so i went out and asked the nurse and she said its near the main entrance where you came in .
Great i thought cardiac unit 1 side of the hospital ECG unit at the other end she even gave me a map how to get to the ECG area but i still got lost.
when i did find it it was my lucky day there was nobody els waiting so i got right in the ECG took 10 mins then that was it i had to find the ambulance station to get the ambulance home i found it and told them i was ready the lady who had come with me had been to sort her pacemaker out but was finished and was also waiting i asked her if she had been waiting long and she said no about 90 mins hehe shame anyway we got home and i was so tiard i slept on the settee for a few hours .
i have been told i will have to go back for the ANGIOGRAM on the 20th of December so not sure if i will make the meeting on the 23rd as you have to rest for 48 hours as they cut into the femaral artary at the top of the leg and any streching could make it bleed and thats a nono we will see
