Well today is rather a sad day for me. It would have been my dog's birthday, and she would have been 15. Sadly though, last August we had to have her put down as old age caught up with her and her back legs had become very weak and unstable.
I still remember the first day we went to see her, she was no bigger than my hand and she curled up in the inside of my coat and fell asleep. I knew then and there that out of the 6 puppy's that she was the one.
I had just gone 12 when we got her and she was part of my life for 14 years. Its funny how we can get so attached to an animal, sometimes even more than we do to other people.
I miss her greatly still and have lots of memories of those 14 years. From her playfully playing, to chewing numerous things up around the house, to pinching things and leaving little puddles lying in wait for some poor unsuspecting victim.
She was definitely the most softest dog I have ever known, though she did have her mischievous side. But even though she is no longer with us, at least I got to have those years with her.

Pets can be just as important a member of the family as any person. Stupid, but my parakeet died when l was 22 whilst l was in London and l was heartbroken! So l know what you are on about [for once!] ;) xxx

Glad you have happy memories.

DON'T CRY CAUSE IT'S OVER.
SMILE CAUSE IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!

I lost my little old cat 2 years ago, she was 16 and I loved her to bits. I am happy knowing that she had a very nice life. I still have my dog but she's knocking on a bit now. I'm dreading the day......
