boring day.....

Or did I mean Boxing day?
Yes, I think I did mean Boxing day.
It was really dull and boring.
Every time I thought I would put my coat on and set out for a walk with the camera, the heavens opened.
I took this to mean that the cosmos wanted me to stay indoors.
Himself was draped on the sofa like a badly washed stole......in jogging bottoms and a top that he received from daughter as a Christmas present......and in a carmudgeonly tone of voice said 'what have you bought me these for?'(ah, Now I know where I get my carmudgeonly from - I caught it from him!).
He was clutching the remote control like it was a very delicate, but vital part of his anatomy.......and watching....would you believe it ? Basil Rathbone in old black and white films...not just one film, but about three of them one after another.

I felt like slitting my throat with a butter knife...but thought better of it. Blood takes such a lot of cleaning up, and I just knew they would be busy in A&E.

We were having flash fried steak for tea with salad, so even that didn't take up much preparation time.
When I eventually came out of the kitchen, where I had gone to escape Basil and co, he had swapped channels and was watching a colourised version of Charles Dickens 'Christmas Carol'.......another film that puts years on me.
I would have read my Kindle.......except I didn't get a new one for Christmas(despite dropping hints so heavy, it needed a JCB to pick them up)...and my old one wouldn't fire up(that has been remedied - I have just ordered one from E-bay, it might come Saturday...or by Monday at the latest).

And how come that on Boxing day I had a hangover?(Maybe it was a sympathy hangover for Rob)
I didn't have even a sniff of alcohol on Christmas day.
In the end, I took two paracetamol and went for a lie down on the bed.
I was just dozing when Pasha came and sat on my chest and started pawing my face with her claws out...so I got up, went downstairs with a face like a bag of hammers and went to sleep in the chair.
I couldn't do with Christmas any more than once a year..the excitiement would kill me!

I have just 16 more episodes to write and then I'm giving it up.

Ha ha sod's law isn't it Margaret, I've been trying to catch that Dickens film for the past two Christmases and missed it - never seen it and Alastair Sim was my mum's favourite actor - she named my brother after him! have capitulated and ordered it from Amazon for £4.99...

Apart from that your day seems to have been a lot like mine - curmudgeonliness must be catching after 30 or 40 years together. Well the whole week has been a bit like that - look out for murder in Morecambe if it continues...

Glad you got your Kindle in the end.

I might match it with one in Clayton.......in the style of Cluedo...it was lady Margaret, in the kitchen with a lancashire peeler.
I tell you it is only the cleaning up of the gore that has stopped me.
I was called at 7.30 this morning to ask me 'if I was ever going to get up'....what for? We were back from shopping(we didn't actually need anything) and from sorting out Ma by 10am...surely I could have had another half hour under the duvet!

Brrr... 7.30 on a December morning - does it really exist? I've been lucky in that respect at least - R is a real slug when it comes to getting up... as am I so we're compatible there.

see yeh wouldn't have had a boring boxing day, if yeh had come to Bradford wi me @ Keep The Faith.:D
