Burning the candle.......

Margaret Pilkington

Beacon of light
Overlooker
...at both ends used to be quite easy.
I have found that I can't do it anymore.
Must be the advancing years.
I used to be able to go out, socialise, shake my booty, come home early doors and then have a couple of hours kip and get up and go off to work. What Happened?

I know I said I would blog about the Michael Buble concert(even though it won't float Cashy's boat) yesterday, but I was mashed.
I felt punctured.

It was after midnight when I got home......I couldn't go staight to bed. I needed a cuppa and to unwind a bit.
Because it was late I couldn't have my usual read to settle myself off to the land of nod.
When I laid my head on the pillow I found that the band had come home with me.
Alas, no Michael Buble....just the band.

They played on in my head for hours....I must have boogied on to the music because I woke up feeling like I had worked all night.

It is years since I have been to a live music concert. I had quite forgotten how exciting it is. How full of oomph....how it sort of lifts you and carries you along with it.

It was a really enjoyable experience....but over with far too soon.
I was up on my feet whistling,clapping.....(and I'm embarrassed about this bit) shaking my butt..... shouting for more.

I will be scanning the papers for news of the next tour....I will definitely be going to see him again.

I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures.

Great pics, nowt better n a live Music Concert in our eyes, quite right though, the last one we did about 4/5 months ago, we booked n overnight stay n was only Southport. Age has got the better of us also.:D Glad yeh both had a ball.

You reminded me of all the concerts I've been to over the years, Margaret. I think the last one I saw was Leonard Cohen, or was it Loreena McKennitt? Doesn't matter - the effect was the same. I was utterly transported, and like you was wired from the excitement of it all. I'm so happy for you and Nicola that you were able to enjoy this special evening! Your photos are wonderful :)

Thanks Carolyn.
I keep revisiting the event by looking at the pics.
When I was taking them I wasn't sure if they would be any good...so I'm quite pleased with how they have turned out - even if I have 'artistically altered' some of them...the black and white ones...for dramatic effect:)

It was a fantastic evening...made better by the fact that Nicola was well enough to enjoy it.
We have to grab these days with both hands.
