Bus passes

Wonder how it works this getting banned lark, do you get a warning first or is it an instant red card? Remember Bee? He disappeared just as sudden.

Think that depends on what it is, think normally they had one or more warnings first unless its real bad.

Looks like some guys who don't know what they are talking about, and having destroyed their own native wildlife, feel qualified to lecture Canadians on how to manage theirs.

That's pathetic. Please don't patronise me. I'm on an Accrington website, so I don't give a toss about how Canadians live their lives. When I do, I'll go on the Canadian Web.

As long as you are on Accy Web, please look at life from the point of view of someone living in North East Lancashire, where people roaming the open country with guns is viewed as archaic, whether they are dressed in orange, blue, pink or purple.

Are you allowed to say that?

The other colours might get jealous.

Feeling you're expressing a special preference.

:rolleyes::D

Thats just as pathetic to me gynn, do yeh bang on about grouse shooting or rabbiting etc? it dont sit well wi me, but it happens simple as.

I'm on Accyweb too and find it interesting to hear about other peoples lives wherever they are - huntin'/fishin' types exist all over the planet and most of them eat what they catch. They're only a bloody nuisance when they lose their dogs which stray onto our farm in Italy and chase my cats..

Actually I find people who shoot at each other with paint guns more pathetic.

Like how you've steered the thread back to it's original theme.

Of course, a bus pass may save her life ... Racoons living in urban areas have an average life span of at most 3 years. Being hit by a vehicle is an all too common fate for coons. Raquel must be a senior by now (for the past two years she has brought her kits to my front porch); so, she deserves a bus pass.:D

Well I also live in North East Lancashire, and if that means we share anything, other than geographical proximity, especially a smilar point of view on anything, you can shoot me now.

Er..by the way.

Accy Web is owned, and was started by an Accy lad. Whilst working in the frozen wastelands of Siberia. As a way of staying in contact with kith, kin, his roots, and the warm hearted folk who make this part of the world special.

When exactly did you move here...from Yorkshire?

:rofl38:

There has to be some explanation.

May I remind you this site was originally set up by an ex-pat (at the time) for locals and ex-pat's to keep in touch. If Eric or anyone else wants to tell us what they get up to then thats fine. Many of us find it very interesting, I know I do.

You may think its archaic to roam the countryside with guns but that your personal opinion. Mine is that wooly do gooders over her try and make us all think its archaic.

The shooting & fishing lark go way back when to the times of early pioneers exploring the wilds & founding communities, it's a way of life which some still follow & enjoy, I myself although from England partook of shooting & fishing on our own fair Countryside when younger.

Before you get all aerated about the fact we only shot what we needed & a couple for the farmer as a thank you for letting us use his land, I don't do the shooting now, but still enjoy fishing.

As to the safety aspect you'll find the Canadian kids are introduced to firearms at an early age & taught to respect & appreciate the dangers & responsibilities inherent with these pieces of equipment/tools as that is what they are. Unlike your average overindulged British kid who'd think it was something for making him the hardcase, cool kid of the gang because of the different mentality & mindset between our nations.

And as to the comment of Humanely processed meat you get in the supermarkets Gynn, I think you may need to have a look again at some of these processes.

Sorry for the digression, but if it's of any interest my ol' Dads got his bus pass. Although he doesn't really need it as he's still fit & able enough to drive & he'll continue to do so as long as he's capable.

Ya can get banned for different things, but you usually get a yellow card first, you get a few yellows and they end up as reds:D

Banned?

I thought it said bummed!

I really must get my eyes tested.

I'll go and check the times of the buses to Accy.

Hey naughty naughty;)

What?

Wasn't rude, or naughty.

I can't help my failing eyesight.

Plus it sort of made sense.

bummed, bum·ming, bums v.intr.
1. To live by begging and scavenging from place to place. Often used with around.
2. To loaf.
