By this time next week...

By this time next week it will all be over.
Well, except for the washing up and I will be glad(as always).
Am I ready? That is like asking a condemned man if he will welcome the noose.
I have nothing wrapped and very few things bought.
I am thinking of perhaps using himselfs example and buying nowt and not bothering to wrap it in an interesting or alluring way.
The pair of us have been laid low by chest infections...both of us.
These were gifted to us by Spindles and his sister, Lady Laceholes of lavatory hall.
They brought this bug, bacteria, alien home in their schoolbag.
They left it with us.
I have told them that we are not averse to gifts, but next time please can they be wine, chocolates, flowers or something along those lines. Not pesky germs.
I have tried to carry on as normal, but have made only half a fist of this.(I am not good at giving in to ill health...it seems somehow a bit 'wimpy'.

Himself took to being an invalid like it was his designated career.
He wanted me to minister to him. Make him hot lemon and honey, jugs of steam, cough mixture cocktails.
Not once did he stir his stumps to seek out his own relief. I began to think his arms and legs were merely painted on. Not actual working limbs.
He commented that sympathy and compassion seemed to be in short supply. I told him' go to Asda, see how much a box of it is there'.
He pulled his tongue out at me. It looked like a badly hoovered runner.
So we have not been out and about to see what the stores are offering.

I resorted to buying gift vultures(well, iTunes cards - they don't have any expiry on them).
I hate buying gift vultures, it sends out a couldn't be bothered message.

Anyway in a week it will be gone.

Sorry, Margaret, I'm just catching up with reading the latest blogs so am a bit behind with offering my sympathy to you. I'm so sorry to hear you have been unwell and hope you are soon completely over it. One thing about it, you never completely lose your sense of humour, which shows you are a real trouper.

Dotti, thank you for your kind thoughts.
It was only a cold. Just an imbuggerance really.
When you consider the daily difficulties that many in this world suffer, it is nothing.
Yes, we are recovered.

plenty of people have been laid low with all the bugs going around these last 3 weeks ... went down to see my niece on her birthday .. she was complaining about being ill and her eldest was off school he'd been ill during the night so she kept him off school .. he ended up off school for 3 days ...

The children were off school for a week Jen.
One of them was throwing up and the other was coughing fit to bust. It has been nasty.
We kept away from them while they were rough, but they must have been passing on the cold virus before it was evident.
All my door handles and light switches have been clean with spray bleach(on a cloth...not directly onto the switches...I'm not wanting to be in heaven just yet)
