Well the spugster arrived ... a bit late .. but got here safely. He set off early from home to make sure he got into edinburgh to catch the train down ... he neednt have bothered .. no problems in Scotland ... it was when he got to preston - his train was cancelled from preston to accy .. anyway he caught the next one ... so landed a bit later than expected .. but got here.. By the way .. the house was a tip .. got worse after he arrived ..and im going to have to have a go at it tomorrow ..
We went down town to meet up in the research centre with haggi's ... sorry we didnt get there yesterday .. but when you hear what went on wednesday night .. you'll understand why!!! We got the last xmas pressie .. called in with the red kola .. and back home and then waited for the haggi's pick up .. After they were sorted then i went out delivering my christmas cards .. which wasnt too bad .. slipping and sliding all over the place ... Then walked over to acre to the chinese for tea ... and it was brilliant as usual .. i got a calendar .. and me being me was totally fed up .. total darkness .. no lights on the roundabout and bottom bit of the highway in the sky .. you couldnt see where you were walking or where the footpath finished and the bypass started .. so when i got home i fired off an email to my county councillor and reported it on the lancs county council website.
Anyway .. spugster after being up so early went off to bed early .. left me down here on my own .. and a quick shufty ..couldnt find the crimbo pressie .. he'd hid it too well ... so i had to wait till morning ... and him giving it me .. So christmas morning .. i got woken about 10am .. and he gave me a box .. all wrapped up .. and a brew ..
Well i ripped it open .. and it was a new mobile phone .. a nokia .. i prefer nokias .. theyre easy to use .. i did get a sony ericcson one a couple of years ago .. i swapped it with the spugster . i hated it ..he loved it ... well i reached out .. got mine from the bedside table .. and we put the sim card in the new one .. and started playing with it .. problem being then cos to get the sim card out .. i had to take the battery out of the old one ... and lost some of the phone numbers i hadnt copied onto the sim!!! 
I got up ..the spugsters had been under the crimbo tree .. and we came downstairs .. and i gave him his ... Now if you remember what i did to him a few month ago .. put his mp3 player through the washing machine .. and it wouldnt work ... well i got him a new one .. not the same type or anything cos they'd all sold out .. id tried and gave up on waiting for em to come back in stock .. so ended up with a phillips one. Also got him some smellies .. well a bloke cant have enough!!! So both of us were playing with our new gadgets ...
Spugster went back to bed .for a couple of hours .. i rang my aunt and one of my cousins in ireland ... by the time these phone calls ended it was dinner time ... and didnt want to risk ringing in the middle of their christmas dinner ... My brother rang up im off down to big sis ..do you want a lift .. im still in my fleecy winnie the pooh christmas pj's and i said no .. t'other sis said she'd give come up to give us a lift down to her house... With that phone call i realised it was getting late on .. 2pm ... so went and got ready ..and woke the spugster up .. he got up and ready .. i nipped over to next doors with their pressies .. id not wrapped theirs up when they came over on xmas eve for the loan of the table and chairs ... anyway her house was packed .. and getting ready for dinner ... so wasnt there long .. by the time i got back the spugster was dressed and ready .. i rang my sis .. and she said she'd be up for us .. and off we went ...
My sis and her hubby normally have hubby's son .. my nephews go to their dads for christmas dinner/tea/whatever you want to call it ... and when we got there i said wheres jason .. and sis said oh hes gone to his mums for christmas but he'll be here on tuesday ... so it was just sis, hubby and me and the spugster. Then came the pressie giving .. and they gave me a silver bangle .. that came all the way from Tiffany's in new york when they went to america ... its gorgeous .. and she gave me money as well .. the spugster got an ornament of Duke (well he looks similar to it) he's their jack russell and spugster wants to take him home with him all the time .. My niece had dropped mine off round at sis's .. and she'd bought me one of those slankets .. the blankets with sleeves in it ... and a pocket for the remote control .. its not exactly a slanket .. its a copy .. bright red .. and its warm!!!
We sat down for christmas dinner/tea .. and prwn cocktail to start with .. and then turkey and all the trimmings.. There was a story to go with the turkey. The turkey was from a workmate of my nephew's .. sis said it was called harry ... we later found out .. that sis had said it was to be called terrance .. and so had been called terrance this year .. the last years had been called harry .. then we had xmas pudding .. with sisters special cream .. whipped cream with whiskey in it ... and not any normal whiskey - hubby had got a bottle of jamesons 12 yr old malt for crimbo .. and that was what went in the cream .. after i'd filched it from under the christmas tree without him noticing!!! Duke even got some .. he got to lick out the cream bowl ... he curled up with the hubby after .. and both went to sleep .. sis, spugster and me walked round to big sis's .. well slipped and slid round more like it ..
Id been under orders to write a christmas quiz .. for between the ages of 5 and 65 ... id done 35 questions .. and hidden in my handbag ... anyway we did the pressie giving .. i got some more jewellery and other goodies, the spugster got a beanie hat and puzzle and stuff ... watched some of the tv on christmas nite .. then my nephews appeared .. and we did the quiz .. which was fun ... then we did bingo ... one of my big sis's pressies was a bingo game .. big ball which you rolled round and the balls came out one by one ... Big sis .. said to not so little nephew .. you are the one calling the numbers ..he wasnt exactly sober either .. and as he couldnt call the numbers out without laughing .. the only one he could remember was legs eleven ... we had proper bingo cards as well .. my nephew managed to get the first line .. and then i won the full house ... the prize's - a cracker ... It went on for ages .. and we came away from there about 1am ... but we all had a good time ... the first time the spugsters had a christmas down here for 20 years .. and he said he's had a good time so far ...
