Compliments.

Two weeks ago Mum and myself both went to the same chiropodist in the same week but on different days, with me getting my bunion polished first.

She's really chatty, read nosey, and wants to know everything about you whilst she's playing this little piggy with your toes. I'd had to tell her about the Parkinson's when I'd filled my medical history in.

She knew I was Mum's son, when she was treating Mum, and had told her it was such a shame, and quite unusual for somebody so young to have it. Mum agreed and said it is quite unusual, but not that rare to be diagnosed at forty. I was told the woman looked genuinely shocked as she thought I was 'about thirty'. A quarter of my age knocked off! What a result, I mean compliment.

Yesterday was Mum's turn for a compliment. We went to Accrington, as per usual on Tuesdays, see earlier entry for our itinerary. It was one of those days when we saw lots and lots of people we knew, and so kept stopping to chat. Whilst crossing the road infront of the Market Hall, a rather smart, handsome chap came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder. He said 'young man, you are making me jealous, holding the arm of such a beautiful lady.' I sort of smiled and laughed my acknowledgement and we carried on walking. I asked Mum who it was as we walked away, she said she had no idea and thought it was someone I knew.

We walked back to the car chuckling, and thankfull for our good genes.

Aw bless, i bet your mum was well chuffed!! it's nice when people say things like that without wanting to get in your knickers!!!!
