Do any of you make corned beef hash?
If so how do you make it?I boil the spuds then when they are nearly done i put the corned beef in and just boil for a bit more then drain it all and maybe attack it with a fork before serving, whereas i remember my nan used to make it like a thick pancake with crispy edges.I want to make it exactly how she did (but dont talk to her any more),do you just finish it off in a frying pan?

well i make it first boil spuds then mash as normal adding the corned beef suppose if you wanted you could lightly fry it after but i ve never done it ...goes down a treat with some pickled beetroot..yummmmm

I do the same but add a couple of oxo cubes at the same time as the corned beef before I mush the spuds a bit :)

Scooped out potato skins refilled with corned beef hash, then sprinkled with graated cheese, and slowly reheated in the oven.

Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Yummy.:)

LOL nah its okay-we have not spoken for a few years-shes grandma poison.one of those b1tchy interfering types that acts the victim.

didnt know i was soo horrid did you!

after you've cooked it put it in a frying pan and stick it under the grill for a while, you'll get a nice crispness to it then (dont put any oil in the pan though)

it depends there are two ways
the northern way ie. a stew with a nice thick gravy
or the southern way which is mor elike a layered pie with c/beef onions baked beans and cheese on top baked

I do it like you Cherokee and serve it with mushy peas instead of beetroot.

Hubby does it differently though.
