Crisis averted

My meet and greet session nearly got me into huge trouble. Not because I'm not allowed to have one because I am and not because it could be construed as campaigning because it isn't but due to a really simple error. When I phoned up asking to book the room the guy I spoke to, who knows me fairly well, assumed somehow that it was for Mid Pennine Arts. I thought I'd said in the conversation that it was a personal meeting but he perhaps didn't understand or misheard me.

Anyway, I only realised when I reread the confirmation a couple of days ago and saw MPA on the top of the letter. I've spent the last two days trying to get hold of my contact but he's on leave, trying to sort it out and change it back in to my own name.

Can you imagine the field day that my opponent would have had with that? He'd have really had ammunition that I was being supported by MPA, or that I was trying to put things through MPA books, etc. Luckily, they've sorted it out for me and everything is fine again but I had a bit of a panic there. It's all back in my name. Phew!

Had a good meeting today at Haworth Art Gallery about all the things that are planned for next year around the 90th anniversary of the battle of the Somme. There are a lot of Accrington Pals projects coming from all different angles and Hyndburn Women's Forum are getting involved. Should be quite good!
