Day 33.

Overlooker
Since the lockdown began I have tried to do a blog episode every day.....some days I have done a couple and I think there was one day that I did three.

I have also posted threads to the forum that would encourage others in lockdown to perhaps participate in the forum.
The forum is a way of keeping contact and also sharing some of the frustrations, the thoughts and in some situations looking for the lighter side.
It is akin to having an 'over the wall conversation'.

The longer we are isolated the harder it has become to think of something original, or interesting.....so I guess it is here where I make the apology for my boring ramblings.

Maybe over the coming weeks there will be an easing of the guidelines....because it is necessary for business to get up off its knees and rebuild confidence.
There will be some businesses that will not get up, because they are no longer viable....the virus has killed them too.

My own feelings are that it has been something of a fiasco.....and the comparisons between this and WW2 are ridiculous.
I keep hearing people say that our grandfathers were sent to the trenches, and all they want us to do, is stay home.
The difference was that our grandfathers went out with the ability to see the enemy....to be able to aim a shell or shot at them....to stop them in their tracks.

Another phrase that has been overused is stay home, stay safe.
As if the virus cannot be transmitted on a newspaper, a parcel, an envelope.

We have become scared of contact....even accidental contact, yet we know that this virus can hang in the air from a contaminated person just breathing.....and that it can get into our bodies through the eyes as well as the nose.

Much of the fear has been generated by media.....news broadcasts, papers, online media.....they have ALL been promoting scare stories....very few stories have been published that tell us if the recovery of patients.
Instead we are shown Doctors and nurses garbed up like they are auditioning for a disaster movie.
Yes, I DO know that they have to protect themselves, but really once we have seen it, does it have to be shoved under our noses at every opportunity.
Don't the powers that be know that there is a condition called 'disaster fatigue'.....where the same message repeated time and again, ceases to have any impact.....and in some instances can produce resistance to the message.

All the talk of those who are flouting the rules.....they do that. Cause they are fed up with the message.....a bit of a protest if you like.

What harm does it do if someone is sitting on a beach enjoying the sun.....especially where there is an expanse of sand between those taking the air.
Sometimes it is necessary for mental health to spend time out doors....and outdoors is safer.....because the if there is virus present it will be far less concentrated.

Ok, that turned into something of a soap box interlude....and that wasn't my intention, but hey ho there you go.
