DNA Storage

I firmly believe we should have a national DNA database, and think, like on so many other issues, Europe should keep it's beak out.

the point is in this debate is that people,s DNA is being stored on a data base even if you have not commited any crime in the UK,as the situation now is that when ever you are arrested a DNA swab is automatically taken,if you are not charged with any offence or found NOT guitly your DNA sampl;e should be destryed or taken out of the system, this is a clear breach of human rights, only people convicted should have there DNA recorded, this country is becoming a police state

If you live on the right side of the law (as i do) why worry........they can have my DNA anytime..............

Same here, they're welcome to mine too.

Though I guess you're like me, and have never been arrested.

Unlike alan7554, who has been arrrested, and is on the Sex Offender's Register.

Some people would be wiser to shut up, rather than bleat on about human rights.

I have no objections to my DNA being stored:) And no I have not been arrested but would be quite willing to give a sample for a data base:)

You were found guilty of a sexual offence against an underage girl.

Is it just an abuse of human rights when the person isn't guilty of a crime, unlike yourself?

yes.. and if anyone wants my DNA they can take it out of my face in the car park... I'm not a criminal so why would I want my DN:£ A. or finger tabs taken?

Which carpark is your face in?

Let me know I'll go and get it for you.

a carpark near you.. take it out of my face and I'll take it out of your trolly.. that is if it's got a ramp!

They can now replicate DNA, which means that it can be fabricated and planted at a crime scene.
I do not have total trust in the honesty of all policemen.
It seems that some here do.

Threatening behaviour's an arrestable offence.

;)
your mush could be deemed as a threat.. I reckon it's bordering on a charge of a disgrace to mankind...no charge this time I'll let you off with a caution you ugly ****.

well i'm glad that's sorted... it's as if a great big Tory cost cutting machine just went over my head.. but in reality it won't

Well children there seems to be opposing levels of bull manure talked on here about this subject so here's my interjection.

At the moment even those found innocent are swabbed and kept on record, that is surely naughty?

If found innocent anything such as this should be wiped out, removed, disposed of, done away with, Unless, we have a voluntary system in place.

I agree that because I have nothing to fear, take my DNA sample, then it can be checked and I can be proved innocent without being bothered by the 'electric shock' & other treatments Margaretr seems to fear from our Reasonably honest Police force, (not all rotten apples destroy the barrel, (yet another, Conspiracy)).

However until a voluntary system is put into place, (and I'll be one of the first in the queue), if someone is proved innocent then no-one has the right to keep such personal information.
