M&S used to have a side enterance as well, opposite the Pickwick pub that was. There was a large bin area next to the enterance like the one on Union street.I also remember, back in the days when Broadway was'nt pedestrianised,K Taxis bieng next to the cinema. It was nothing more than a cubby hole, but a good pick up/fighting place after last orders in the Pickwick. And it took me & my mates to Rishton then to Bash for 2 quid:eek:
I too recall the side enterance to Woolies & their food counter, sold some delicious processed cheese:) And then there was Igloo on union st. 20 burgers for a quid......still waiting for the mad cow disease to kick in:(

Fosters was on Broadway,were Home & Bargain is i think.Bought many a trendy garment at Fosters.Pepe jeans....do they still make them.OMG..stretch jeans.God i used to be slim:D

I worked in Sidewalk 54 when it first opened, it was really busy and a novelty in the town regarding music on the tv screens, we had to wear a horrible uniform but it was a laugh behind the bar.

it was to "lit" up for me, and them steps to ladies loo was dangerous!
nearly broke me ruddy neck in them heels, being sloshed as well wouldnt have helped!!:D
