doing a Mo Farah

Beacon of light
Overlooker
I woke up this morning to find the day was a bit overcast...so I put my head under the pillow and did not surface until gone 8 am.
The day had brightened a bit by then.
Himself was getting sorted to have a wander round town.
He asked if he should take his keys.

I told him 'yes'...though to be fair I did not think I would venture out.
After I had had my tea and toast and a read of the paper, the sky looked clearer and blue...so I sorted the ablutions and decided I would go to Lytham....there was supposed to be some sort of vintaage car show on the green today.
I thought I would hoof along and take some pics...and get some sea air into my system.

I was ready and set off for the 10:20 bus.
Got to the front door and looked for my keys....they were in the house...upstairs....in my raincoat.
I rushed into the house...ran upstairs(yes I CAN still run upstairs) and then out again.

I told myself that i would be very lucky to catch that bus.

I headed down Blackburn road and was at least 200 yards from the stop when the bus came hurtling over the brow of the hill.

I set off to run.....but in my head was a voice that said 'hey, who do you think you are.....MO Farah?'
so I stuck out my hand hoping the driver would stop...if he didn't then I would go home and clean up.

The driver DID stop.....I told him that I had not a hope in hell of beating him to the bus stop....and I thanked him for stopping.

I still did not get to Lytham...nor get the sea air that I craved......the buses were disrupted by industrial action....so bang went that plan.

Only Preston Cashy....a mooch round tha pathetic market,
Lunch out and a very large gin and soda(it had been my birthday earlier in the week and this was my treat to myself)....bought a loaf and a couple of cheese scones....then home.
