That's where I have been over the weekend.
It was a lovely day on Saturday too.
Himself shouted of me just before seven.
On Friday I had been very sneezy and had a sore throat, but I didn't feel ill....no leaden limbs, no headache...but my head did feel a bit woolly.
Anyway when I got up Saturday morning I was very croaky. I felt it would be wrong to take whatever lurgy I was incubating onto a bus and possibly inflict it on other old folk......so I didn't go out.
I went and had a shower and set to making some chicken soup and dumplings - for lunch
Himself went out on his own, but only down Accrington(that, to me doesn't count as 'going out').
I busied myself doing things about the house......inhaled several doses of steam(to kill whatever it was lurking in my nose and throat).
Ma phoned late Saturday afternoon and himself goes on to tell her that I was not well!
If I had been nearer to him I would have placed a well aimed shoe on his shin.
He handed me the phone which made any denial that I had a head cold, futile.
Ma was full of concern for me...said I worked too hard, didn't look atfer myself etcetera.
I told her that I sounded far worse than I felt...that I had done everything I had planned for my day...apart from going out and about.
Sunday was much the same as Saturday. I got on with housework, made a belated birthday card to send to my brother in Sydney.
Roasted a pork leg joint for our tea...with all the trimmings.
Nicola phoned offering me some Night Nurse....I told her that I didn't really need it as I felt fine.
Himself had told her I had 'flu'.
There is a very simple test to see if you have flu.......if you can get out of bed you haven't got it.
I have been out today. I had to go and see Ma(though I would have preferred not to go and see her just in case I transmit my cold to her)...it was her injection day.....and also blood pressure check day.....I had a lovely roast pork dinner for her with some A1 crackling. I had a pot of my home made chicken soup with dumplings and I had the Sunday papers for her.
So although I have been in dry dock, it has only been to have the barnacles scraped off my bottom
