Engine required!

Well I've decided I must be jinxed! I broke down in my car yesterday and thought it was just a dead battery - but of course - that would be too cheap to fix and I have just found out I've managed to sieze up the engine! Some people may know that this is the second car and second engine I've managed to go through in 6 months (the first being my dad's - opps!)

Why is it other people can buy absolute bangers for next to nothing and they last years?

So if anyone has a Ford Fiesta engine going spare - please PM me! Meanwhile - I'm going to get really drunk and feel sorry for myself (well I'm not driving in the morning!)

Tell me about it!!!!
I broke down last night too. Thought i had a fuel pump problem, turbed out to be the cam belt grrrrrrr

You two have my sympathys.
Nearly two years ago, I siezed the engine on my 'onda, when i found it didn't like running at 7,000 rpm. I got a re-conditioned engine sourced and fitted by Alan Price Autos in Blackburn for £500, and it's still going strong.

Needless to say, my driving style is now less Ayrton Senna and more like Driving Miss Daisy.

I'm hoping it won't come to it but i got quoted £1100 + vat for a second hand one. And thats if i fit it myself!!

Well Wingy you've cheered me up!

I should remember that there's always someone less fortunate than me. In this case - you!!!!!!! Only joking......

Sparky - I don't think my engined siezed up cos I was running it at high rev's, I don't even think the rev counter goes up to 7,000! It sounds like it's gonna fall apart at 3,000!

I believe when you own a car - you must never get your own hands dirty! Therefore, my Dad's had a look at it and so has a garage - couldn't tell you if they've "dipped the oil" (Eh?)

Just noticed the apostrope shouldn't be in Dad's - incase Iggy Wiggys checking everyone's punctuation!

Whooops....
She's such a sweet child but there are times when i could cry, back in january i did a mini service on it discovered that it needed either a) a longer dipstick or b) oil. I went for the easy option of putting more oil in & @ the same time explained the need for regular checks of the various bits & pieces.

I should have known by the glazed look in her eyes that this is a man thing & she didn't understand a word i had said.

less of the man thing i do my own oil & water, always have done ( thats wot you get for living with a mechanic), as you well know i can start mine when it suddenly stops ha ha ha ha //

Yes Mez but as you have already admitted to me you learnt your lesson by blowing up an engine as well! (perhaps proof of the man thing?) he, he.

I mean the weekly checks! Check the oil and water.......

Weekly!!!!! Gosh, I'm horrified, that means I've missed the last 120 checks. I'd better pull my finger out, (and the dipstick).. :D

Actually Less - it's not because it's a guy thing that I have a glazed look about it - it's cos I may get my hands dirty, or even worse, break a nail! I didn't chose to sit on my backside in front of a computer all day as a job without some consideration!

My shoulders are still aching because you made me push the car! And I managed to graze my knee on the car at the same time! So you see - it isn't cos I'm a woman - it's just cos I'm me!

Shortstuff...I protest

Please get rid of the pig....Your much better looking than that and your don’t have a big hairy nose.
Can I also ask why a lady had to push the car?

cos these days MEN dont come to a ladys help // been there done it //
