I knew him, was a good friend of mine. sad loss as he was a real character

Remember "Wilsons" Egg Factory i think it was called on "Maudsley St" being burnt down, would be early 60s i think, was great fer us lads to watch, eggs were shooting up in the air about 50ft n exploding, turned out later twas arson n some local lass who i knew did it.:rofl38::rofl38::rofl38:

I remember when one of the reservoirs burst its banks in the mid to late 60s the water funneled its way down Ossy via Tinker Brook and nearly took the bridge out on Union Road at the bottom of Rhyddings street, it was only a few nights later that I witnessed, I think what they call a movement of rats, obviously upset by the on rush of water. It was about 12 midnight and I was on my way home and was talking to a mate near the war memorial, when this animal ran over our feet, followed by literally thousands and thousands of its little mates, we both ended up on the top step of the memorial scared s***less, not an experiance I ever wish to see again:eek::eek::eek:
