I thought they had offered one of those to PBI can't see how they can have already been sold if they are being listed with prices and offers invited for the two on the top floor.

Can you translate into english money Please? If only for this numbskull here who doesn't know the exchange rate. That's it!!!! It's a puddle. Had a quick word with a real estate friend of mine and for somewhere between 200 and 220 thousand dollars you can get a condo at Harborfront Place, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a balcony etc, overlooking Lake Ontario (not a puddle) with a view of Fort Henry (a World Heritage site) and a few of the Thousand Islands, including Wolfe Island (named after General Wolfe), the largest of the Thousand Islands. My poor hovel of a house, with three bedrooms, a finished basement, large yard with three beautiful maple trees, in a quiet area close to the lake and the shops (and the pubs) cost me an exhorbitant $150,000. I do get the feeling that those puddlefront apartments are more than a little overpriced.![]()

That is round about the same as the cheaper apartments is it not?
Which "water" do these things "front" on ... the canal? Seems like a hell of a lot of money. Tells you a lot about the intelligence of the nouveau riche, if they would pay that kind of money for an apartment.
I don't know the exact figure, but the average cost of a terraced house in Hyndurn is now over £100,000.
So with the all the building guarantees that these apartments come with, meaning they'll be maintenance free for at least ten years, plus all the extras, such as white goods etc, the price isn't really that exorbitant.
Ok, when you put it in that kind of perspective, it really is not all that exhorbitant. I guess that in general real estate is more expensive. Makes some sense when you consider that land for building is at a premium because of the relatively small size of the island and the relatively large size of the population. I know of a house similar in size to mine in the Village of Battersea about 40k north of hear which has a price tag of only $60,000 and it sits on about an acre of land.

But it's still a bloody puddle.

I don't think the location is all that briliant, and looking at house prices in the vicinity (ie bottom end of Ormerod St and area) they go for a lot less than £100,000.
I take your point about them hopefully having all mod cons and what have you and that's why I said I'd like to have seen more images of the interiors on the website because there can be a world of a difference in value simply depending on how well they have been done inside.
I like the idea of "Puddleside Park" - sounds far more appropriate!![]()

Very wittyOr, considering what they want for the apartments: "On Golden Pond."![]()

Pie in the SkyI wonder what they are hoping to be offered for the 'penthouse suites'?
