failed....

I am not a big TV fan and frankly the TV offerings have been dire.
My other half likes to watch things like Judge Judy...and over the last couple of days I feel like I have overdosed on it.
I really felt in need of something that would entertain me...and perhaps challenge me.
I came up to my den..the place where I craft.
I watched a you tube video about how to make a 'pop and twist card'.
It looked easy and very impressive.
You know wha they say about things looking easy?
Well it goes like this 'if it looks easy, it is hard. If it looks difficult then it is impossible'

I really should take note of these old saws.

I watched the video a few times and told myself 'I can do that'.

I have tried and tried and tried....first of all I could not get a grip of the mechanism that made the pop up bit of the card work......I did the folding, the scoring just as the crafter had done...and yet mine came out different to hers.
Eventually I did get it right.
So i made the pop up bit and stuck it inside a crad...then came the bit I like best.
Making and decorating the bit that was going to pop out of the card.
I did the cutting, the measuring, the gluing and fitted into the card and onto the pop up bit.
I spent quite a while doing all this.....my pop up doesn't....so in a fit od pique I ripped it out of the card and chucked it in the bin...this is not something I EVER do...because even when things do not work out I always try to cannibalise the card to use on other projects...but not this time.
It has gone in the bin(I might fish it out later and recycle bits of it)...but right now I am mad that I cannot master this technique.

I probably will give it a day or two then try again.
