this Wednesday 5th of November the park pub in great harwood formally known as the park hotel will be hosting a huge firework display (weather permitting)

this highly successfully event takes place every year this year there will be a BBQ to ensure you lot don't get hungry :)

kids are welcome as long as they are supervised by adults

fireworks begin at 7:30 so get down early as to avoid disappointment
 
Hurrah !! Pleased to see that someone is doing it on the actual day at last instead of spread over a week. :)
 
Can anybody confirm that the Plough are having their bonfire on Wednesday? Trying to find out for someone but nothing in Observer:confused:

Thats what we thought........we have been away for a few days and seem to have missed them all even though november 5th hasn`t even been yet....:confused:

Not if its anything like last year, you couldnt get into the pub, let alone to the bar it was that busy. The fireworks are worth it though, they were excellent last year.

Well i've just spoke to Rob who owns The Plough and they are not doing it this year.:(

Awww that's a shame......I wonder if all that fuss in the paper last year put them off doing it again. :(

I couldn't comment as I wasn't there but someone wrote to the Observer last year suggesting that it was less than well organized and a firework hit her child's buggy wheel.

Plenty of people wrote back to state the opposite but maybe they just don't want the hassle again.

Shame.
 
To be quite honest if I want to watch a fireworks display, all I do is open the kitchen curtains, pull up a stool, open a nice bottle of wine, close the kitchen door, and just look down Merlin Drive, its very spectacular, on both November the fifth and New Years Eve,sorted;)
 
anyone fancy taking me and Reece to a bommy on Wednesday??? ;);)




and NO i dont wanna be used as the guy on top of the fire :D
