The more I read of the whining on here ,the more I am convinced that our great British sense of humour and our sense of fun took a hike a long while back .
I spent Sat Nov 1st at an organised bonfire and then had around 15 people, mainly adults of respectable professions back to my humble abode where we ate hotdogs and blackpeas, and set off many , many fireworks in my tiny backyard. Did anyone complain..... NO. We drank and laughed and even taped some rockets together, we had a riot, no one died , it was a great night. We have done the same for the last 8 or 9 years; it's called FUN.:mosher:
Try it, you might enjoy it !

We set some fireworks off in the garden earlier on tonight for the kids. There were several families doing the same round here. They enjoyed it and fun was had. :)

I only complain when I hear fireworks being set off at 2am or too early, like in September.

Fireworks make some people, like Margaret, ill.

In which case, for those people, it is not fun.

Fun is only fun if you're finding it funny..........if you know what I mean. :D

gotta say never known a nov 5th when the fireworks ceased as early, hope all the kids had a great night n are home safe.

well its been quite in Blackburn aswell not heard a bang for over half an hour, has the credit crunch kicked in, oh I think so!!! Well least I haven't had to hear the bloomin things, go off all day and night for the last four weeks.

Why couldn't those Papist plotters have chosen another month?

It would be much more fun to celebrate the failed terrorist attack on Parliament in July.

Still, at least it wasn't pee'ing down this November the fifth.

I agree with Cashman they seamed to stop altogether at 11pm 1 big explosion and that was the end did not hear 1 more after that was a bit strange normally going into the early hours .
I hope everyone that went out enjoyed themselves and got home safely:)

Well the fireworks display was more like a damp squib really, although United's equaliser was quite good:D

Maybe everyones stockpiling their fireworks ready for New Years eve.Since the millenium it seems to be the 'thing' to celebrate the new year with fireworks.Or maybe the council bought them all with our money for the switching on of the Xmas lights:D
