What a shock.
Scored their goal in the last game v Notts County after 8 minutes .... Obviously peaks early
Not good news
.
I'm gutted. He was my most favourite ever ginger player since Billy Bremner.
Tom Bender played for St Albans City against Weston-super-Mare on Saturday. He was on loan to us from Colchester in 2011/12. I wonder how many of us remember that horrendous injury he sustained in a JPT game against Tranmere which had to be abandoned. Severely concussed, he was treated on the pitch for about 30 minutes.
Was at that game, remember it well. I actually left shortly before the decision was made to abandon, as I had no stomach to continue watching what was unfolding on the field.
Shamefully, the name Bender doesn't ring a bell, perhaps memory of the occasion overtakes other facts.
Thanks for letting us know that the young man is still in the game that almost cost his life, at whatever level.
toto sent off again last night at notts county in the trophy of death.
So, in the next two Trophy games the entire Stanley outfield players, plus the three subs, could deliberately pick up the ball, get sent off, and leave the goalie to then kick the ref up the jacksie to secure his red card.
It just shows what a liability he is.
