Just curious ... how much gas ... oops, petrol, do you get for a fiver?

Excuse the pun, but you guys are getting hosed:eek: I think that it would be more appropriate to give out free condoms with the gas, rather than chocolates:D

Twice as much is a little more than a "bit more." But you are right, US made cars are junk. That's why Toyota is now the world's biggest auto manufacturer.

What is the price over there?

Do you have 12 fl oz pints like the yanks? We have 16 fl oz pints over here. A US gallon is only 3.8 litres, a UK gallon is about 4.5 litres

Yesterday it was about 95 cents a litre and edging down a little. The only thing that comes in pints any more is beer at some of the local pubs. But I have been told not to mix beer and gasoline.:D

That's a bummer .. put £ 49.14 in on the 17th .. when did it start ? Didn't offer me anything !!:mad:

Would have coasted down a few hills for a couple of days if I had known was coming up ... 'cept that it's an automatic ..:D
 
speaking of petrol...i see that diesel is nearly a pound a litre!!shock.gif

thinking of getting a diesel too, how does it compare to petrol???

I believe it is less volotile and is ignited by pressure rather than by spark:rolleyes:

But seriously, if you don't mind the noisier motor, and as you live in a part of the world where it doesn't get cold it should work well. Diesel is very efficient, but it is less effecient when temps drop way below zero. I don't know if it is the same in England as it is here, but diesel prices, like the fuel itsel, tend to be less volatile.
