I heard that piece on Jeremy Vine where a woman was bemoaning the fact that she was being penalised for paying her phone bill by cheque.I have just opted for this Jambutty, on whole bill payment, have 2 lines and usually wait for the second bill to come in 2 weeks later to pay all at once. Problem is used to be a little lazy with the first and have been hit for the late payment charge £7.50 ? a couple of times. After putting it on direct debit, and with payment due might be hit with it again, because they said would not be taking it out for a further 2 weeks.. will just have to wait and see.
Also, don't know whether you heard it on Jeremy Vine (know you listen sometimes) only heard the subject heading not the discussion, but someone was going to comment on the fact that because she was paying by cheque why should she be penalised ! Understand what she was probably going to say, 'tis the other around really to the discount they give you for direct debit.
