My sisters are nothing like me .. theyre both organised, they know what theyre doing when theyre supposed to do it etc ... but this wedding business had my sister running round ...and well this is what happened on the friday. Thursday night .. i did the singsong sheets for the bus ... we were all going on a minibus to burnley it was easier when you think about it ... and they could all have a drink .. and not think about being breathalysed on their way home.
So Friday morning 10.43am ... i got a text from my sister .. which she sent to every single woman/girl in her mobile phone .. even my niece who will be 15 next week got it though she didnt know it till she got home from school. 'Have you got any black lace gloves or know where i will get them from i need em for my outfit tomorrow.' Well me being me replied and as i found out on the saturday ...i was the only one who did!!!
The reply went like this .. im going down accy this aft, will have a look. what bout ann summers? next thing beep beep will you find out if they have any? So i got up .. and came online and asked on accyweb, then remembered peaches .. so looking on ann summers website, trying to find the number for peaches and thinking im sure theyve moved up ossy id read it on aw somewhere .. but they'd still have the same number. So finally found the number in the phone book .. i refuse to pay 50p or whatever it is for directory enquiries ... and rang it .. while thats ringing found ann summers dont do black lace gloves they do a variety of lace but not black lace gloves!!! 
Anyway phone was finally answered and i explained what i was after .. and she said to me that they were still sorting everything out and they werent open yet but yes she does black lace gloves .. and she would find them in the boxes and if we went up there later on this afternoon and banged on the shutters then she'd open up and sell us the gloves. She gave me directions - i dont know ossy but sis used to work in the library up there many years ago ..So rang sis up and told her what id done .. and she said she'd come and pick me up and we'd go over. I said we cant go now it will have to be later this afternoon, im having my hair done at 1.15 so when i come home i'll ring you... I still had to get spug his birthday card, my nephews birthday card, my great nieces birthday card and also a wedding card for sis & her hubby to be. I'll pick you up at the hairdressers she says .. no i got shopping to do. So she finally agrees to that and will see me later.
So goes down town .. was early for a change and was talking to dave for a while then thought i'd best make my way to the hairdressers ... Walking through the arndale sees my hairdresser on his mobile propping up the entrance to iceland .... So i was stood there waiting for him to finish and he gave me the door keys to the shop and told me to make myself a brew and he'll be along. So goes and sticks the kettle on and just about coming to the boil when he walks in. Gets the hair done with strict admonissions to not sleep lying down .. sit up and your hair will be fine ... He knows both my sisters ... one he does her hair .. and he went to school with the one who was getting wed ... and he sent me on my way hair done looking nice, and best wishes to sis. Goes and gets the birthday cards and wedding cards .. do i get confetti ... i didnt cos we were going to a registry office do and someplaces dont like it ... So goes back and chats dave up a bit more and decides id best get home will have sis ringing me on my mobile .. where are you!!!being shouted down the phone.
So home and rings sis ... spoke to hubby to be .. and he said shes upstairs and she'll pick you up in about 20mins ... I said how is she today .. she was panicking a bit but now shes just in shouting mode!!!! Weddings do this to you i told him ... So sis picks me up about 3/4hr later and off we go to ossy... this is just about the time the schools get out .. she was going to go thro accy .. i said go the top road .. the kids are all coming out .. with that the bus stopped and a pile of kids from hollins got off ... ok we'll go the top road. Gets into ossy ... is that the co-op right where will i park .. picking out exactly where the shop is .. so parks up and we goes to the shop. No answer and didnt sound like anyone in there. Then it started raining .. and me with my new hair do!!! Least i had a coat with a hood on ... Goes down to her partners shop .. and he said she's in blackburn .. i told him the story and he rang her up .. and she apologised for not being there and said that she'd bring them to my house tonight. And that is what she did. Which was very good of her. When she brought them she said are these the type she wanted .. i said its tough luck if theyre not .. theyre the ones shes getting!!!
Rings up sis .. shes not there ... theyre on their travels somewhere .. so i told her eldest son that ive got the gloves and theyre black lace fingerless ones ... he said i'll tell her ... never trust a fella ... he never told her. Was actually tidying up, ironing my outfit for the wedding and waiting for spug to arrive..
Spug had to catch a late train ... he wouldnt get into accy till 9pm because he got to preston at the same time his connection left to accy .. so he had to wait an hour. He got in 10mins early and caught the early train. He got off at huncoat though and went to deliver the stuff his mum and sis wanted ... as it was fresh stuff and they wouldnt get it till sunday and its sunday breakfast stuff ... sausage and blackpudding .. anyway he landed here bout 9.15 ...and luckily i had ironed my stuff ... and he dumped his stuff, opened his bag, and took out his suit gave it a shake, coathangers and then gave me his shirt and ties to iron ..... i couldnt make my mind up which tie to wear so brought both!!! Which one?
Id put the tea in to make sausage butties for him because he wont have got anything to eat on the train coming down. We ended up eating them about 10 pm ...
By the way i've vowed i aint getting wed .. not if getting wed can do that to my sis ... i'll do without the panic button going off!!!
