Thousands of rich women were conned by a firm into believing LAMBS were valuable miniature POODLES. Entire flocks were imported to Japan from the UK and Australia then sold by the internet company as the latest "must have" pet. The bizarre scam was rumbled when Japanese movie star Maiko Kawakami complained on a talk show that her new poodle refused to bark or eat dog food. She showed photos of the animal and was devastated when told that it was a lamb. Hundreds of women contacted police to say that they had also been sold lambs instead of pedigree pups by the tricksters based in Sapporo, Japan'

Lamb? thats that expensive stuff that comes wrapped in cellophance in Selfridges isn't it? Surely its not cute and cuddly like my trixibelle-chardonnay!- DOH!

:D

So much for the Japanese being the most technoligically advanced in the world. Had they never thought of typing poodle in to Google ?

If you ask a lot of people in the UK who live in the big cities I bet theres a fair few who haven't seen a live lamb 'in the flesh'.
I don,t believe thats true, surely not my two year old know the difference between a lamb and a dog wether they look similar or not .

I didn't say whether they could identify then from stereotype pictures, I said that they hadn't seen a live lamb in the flesh, its also quite surprising how different they can look from the pictures people see in a book.

In a few months those gullible women will still have something cute to walk around with tucked under their arm.:D

I can see where there could be confusion.

You do talk rubbish. It's patently obvious the two on the far right are Bedlington terriers. The others are lambs.:)

Surely even the Japanese know the difference between a paw and a cloven hoof. Even if you'd never seen a lamb before, wouldn't you think its feet were a bit odd for a poodle?
