Getting it together.

At the end of this week I am going down to Devon with my daughter, her hubby and two kidlidids.......so we are trying to be organised. Lists are flying back and forth so that we don't duplicate what we are taking in the way of food and bathroom stuff. It seems daft to take two lots of shower gel and shampoo......plus I think space is going to be at a premium. I don't quite know how they are going to squeeze me into the boot.......perhaps they have got one of these vacuum bags that will suck me down to half my size.

I wasn't sure if I was going to go with them at first. I really didn't want to cramp their style.....or take up space in the car, but they have assured me that it will all fit in and that they want me to go along with them. How many men invite their mother in law to go on holiday with them........?

I am looking forward to going, and I am hoping we get some decent weather so that I can get some good pictures.
I will take a notepad with me so that I can do a paper journal of events......jot down any funnies or incidents. I have been telling people that I am going along as the official tour photographer.
At least it makes sure that all the family get on the pictures.
My daughter and I are hoping to have a few hours at the spa - just chilling out......a swim, a sauna, a jacuzzi. Then maybe back to the caravan for our meal and a bottle of wine...sounds good to me.
The caravan we are staying in looks more like a bungalow and it is supposed to be perched on the cliffs overlooking the beach....... hope we don't have any strong winds or we might end up on the beach. I would love to live by the sea and be able to waken up each morning and look out of my window and see the beach and the sea. I suppose I'll just have to make do with a week.

I have half sorted out the clothes I am taking......they are in a neat pile ready to go in my bag.
I think we are setting off just after 6am on Saturday.......we will have to break the journey a couple of times so that the baby can be fed, and the anklebiter can stretch his legs.

My hubby is staying home to look after the two dogs and two cats, so at least he won't be lonely. He says it will give him the opportunity to make himself a good curry and paint the back of the house......not necessarily in that order.
He isn't allowed curry when I am at home because the smell of it makes me feel very sick. I am not a fan of exotic food.
so Devon shouldn't be too taxing for me.

On a totally different subject....my sister in law came to see me tonight and brought with her some place cards and Order of Service for a wedding......she has volunteered my services to write them.......I have done self taught calligraphy for about 20 years. I used the skill extensively when I was working but I have done very little since I retired. I just hope that I haven't forgotten how to do it. The Wedding is on the 24th of September so I don't know whether to start the job before I go away, or leave it until I come back. It is fairly short notice for a wedding job.......but then I work well under pressure.

hey maybe they might just squeeze me in too, what with the vacuum and me holding me breath, maybe just maybe I could come along because after reading your blogs I can imagine any funny incident that you point out would no doubt have me in stitches!! Can't wait for you to come back and tell all :)
