Go vote!

Whichever candidate you want to support, go vote! It counts even more in local elections with low turnout, especially since many of the wards are marginal! Only takes you a few minutes, and gives you the legitimacy to complain all year round! :D

Count me in......just been :)

but the campaign for central ward has been a real d*ck whipping contest. who's cronies can bug the most ppl. and when one party found out so and so was supporting the opposite party - out comes the slanging.
I quite agree. All their leaflets were about knocking each other and not what they can do for the constituents. There should be a box for " none of these candidates represent my views"

I just waltzed straight past him, you know you don't have to tell the people outside the room who you are - they're checking voters so they know who to KNOCK UP later.

That is American slang for getting someone preggers....are you suggesting? :hidewall:

well for the first time in 14 years i HAVENT voted, with only 2 candidates in the local election(labour and conservative) i decided not to bother, yes i know women fought for the right to vote but i dont agree with any of their policies so why should i be made to choose either or?
At least going along and spoiling your paper would have been more productive than nothing at all.
And to say you don't agree with any of the policies of either party is a bit of a sweeping statement.

oh what a shame, didnt vote i was at work oh well nevermind, mebbe next year

Ethels open 'til 10 p..m. these days Yolanda ? (or stocktaking maybe?) ..

Bit harsh that girls...why not call it an abstention?
I'm sure the girl has more on her plate than thinking about political glory seeking nutters.

May be, in which case why not say, working was a pretty lame excuse! Sorry, Yolanda.

i missed the conservative leaflet somehow - but the labour one was really gunning for them. this campaign really did turn personal and nasty. i'm not joking when i say windows were broken of opposition supporters and some of the candidates were bad mouthing the others no end.

where are they counting the votes and where are they going to b announced? can the public go in for the results?

Maybe so, but you and I have a good command of the English habits and language but it could be that Yolanda is not fully conversant with our does and dont's......Spanish don't forget...and no detriment to the Spanish......I think I've said it before give her a chance to learn and don't kick her in the teeth.

Exactly Gayle . I worked long hours in Manchester for 18 years, as well as bringing up son and grandaughter, always managed to get to the Polling Station.

Yolanda is about to bring a beautiful new female being into the world .. Mad(d)ison (Maddie for short Gayle .. you should appreciate) :D Her vote should be carefully considered for the future of her child.

The way this mini witch hunt is going I think Yolanda and her family would be better off in Spain where the future of her children would be well looked after and would be welcomed without predjudice.

Over the top comment Royboy, we all love Yolanda on here, just a logical observation that's all .... :p

Nothing to do with her birth nationality.

Be constructive and help her...don't put her down.
That's how it came across.

We were being constructive, yes, and critical .. and sure she accepts that, all part of the British political structure of free speech.

I think a PM would have been more contructive explaining to Yolanda what is expected of her and why it expected of her, but not in open forum.
