If you go to Google, and click the Maps link, then move the little man at the top of the zoom in/out thingy-mi-jig, and then click and put him on the map, it'll change, giving you the Street View.

I was on Buckingham Grove, the short cut from Hyndburn road to Dill Hall and took a photo of the camera car as it passed and the date was 20th March 2009.
The photo was taken in a hurry with a phone cam so it's not too good but it does show the cars registration as being French and from the Paris area.

No we drive on the correct side already

That's because the cars are parked outside their owners houses and the Google car is passing them John, on the wrong side of the road!
Notice some cars are parked facing the same way as Google car.
