I have always felt kind of sorry for the rich and famous. You know, the sort of people who cannot make a decision in life without consulting someone. Lots of people do it, Madonna, Cherie Blair and most of the Hollywood set. They will consult people about what to eat, wear and say. How to work out in a gym, which exercise routine they should be doing. Horoscopes and religions. Mental health issues and addictions.

I think it's really quite sad that they have to pay someone to advise on these things. It shows that some people have more money than sense. Do they not have friends that they can discuss all of these issues with, and if not, then how very tragic.....

I was pondering this while I was walking around Asda yesterday. It's Grego's birthday this weekend, and we are having a long awaited girly night out. I haven't had a night out with some of my mates for ages. You know how it is, people settle down, get married, have children and lose touch. We do try to make the effort to get together on birthdays and it's usually a good old catch up. There's nothing like a good group of friends to discuss a problem with and as we are all very different you can get several different bits of advice. The plus side to that is that it's free......

I was thinking about this while I wandered into the wine section of Asda. However long it is between seeing each other, we all know that all we have to do is pick up the phone. While I was perusing the wine, I got talking to a gentleman who works in Asda. You will often see him in the wine section. He is tall and slim with brown hair and glasses. his name badge announces that he is called Tim. I have spoken to Tim several times. Always in the wine section, he is very knowledgeable about the wines and always points me in the direction of a good one. He knows which grapes have made the wine and he is not pretentious about them. None of this "a good nose," "cheeky little number," rubbish that these wine experts on the telly come out with. It's a good job with me really, as I classify wine in 3 ways........Highly quaffable, quaffable if there's nowt else and embalming fluid.

I left Asda yesterday with a bottle of 'highly quaffable,' thanks to Tim. When I got to the car I realised.................... I have a guru!!!!! Tim is my wine guru...... I am hanging my head in shame.

Oh Lettie........how could you?
But I think you got it wrong there......he isn't a wine Guru.....he didn't charge you.......it is all part of looking after his customer, YOU.
Anyway, if you have spoken to him several times in the past I suppose he could loosely be called your WINE FRIEND.

definatly wrong there lettie,as margret says he didnt charge you, unlike the saddos you mentioned, look on tim as an aquaintence lol
