Have you had....

Have you had Billy's Weekly Liar shoved through your letterbox yet?
Sorry...I mean the Labour Party Election flyer from GJ....but truly it amounts to the same thing.

I was over at Nicola's house yesterday when a pair of deluded Labour supporters were shoving this trash through the letterboxes.

I read the blurb about our MP with astonishment....such self aggrandisement was difficult to swallow.
I wonder who wrote this fairy tale.
Anyway the upshot of it is, that after reading the flyer I took to my heels and trotted down the road until I caught up with the man posting the leaflets.
I told him I did not want this crap, that he could have it back. It would not even make decent lavvy paper.
I told him that in my long life I had read some twaddle, but this twaddle was gold standard.(but then what can you expect from our illustrious MP)

The chap looked a bit gobstruck....like he had not experienced the like of this before.

If GJ has done so much for our area why did he not specify his achievements....one by one?

If he had done, he could have got it on the back of a postage stamp and still have had room for his shopping list.

In this flyer he said he is frequently (define frequently)speaking out in the HoC.....that is a surprise....I watch the doings in Parliament....and this man says very little and is often not to be seen.

When I got home I found that I had been the recipient of this blurb....it went straight in the pile that we use for lighting the fire...that is about all it is good for.

I really do hope that the electorate do not swallow this pap....I hope they see right through him as a fake.

Once every 3 years or so, Margaret, I have a very best friend who writes to me. Well he intimates that he is my friend. He even invites me to meet him on a street corner for a chat as his first and foremost commitment is to do whatever is best for our community. He has dedicated himself to this very thing. He says he would appreciate my input and would value my suggestions. He makes promises. However, a strange thing happens once we have visited the polling booth, he’s no longer accessible, seemingly has disappeared – as have his promises.

But not to worry, in another three years he will be my very best friend again. I can’t wait….. (it would seem politicians are the same the world over).

Yes, you are right Dorothy....and the best of it is,they think we floated down the Calder on our father's flat cap.
They think we are too dim to butter bread....and I blooming well hate that.
I know that our MP went to university, but that doesn't mean he is educated.
It just means that the universityhe went to was not that choosy.

i think you will find, universitys do NOT teach common sense, many who go to em, think they are very clever, but truth is they are as thick as 2 short planks, thats my view anyway.

As usual you are right Cashy....and what gets me is that these so called intellectuals look down their noses at the likes of you and me....because we did not go to university.
Well, they are wrong....we are both still enrolled in the university of life.

hows Nicola doing Margaret?

No I haven't had one … but its thanks to graham that when preston hospital kept on sending me appointments and cancelling them and I was to have seen the neurologist in 6 months and it went to 14 months … he wrote to them after me complaining to my doctor, and she didn't get anywhere he wrote to them and I ended up with an appointment to see the neurologist … and that didn't get cancelled …

He has helped you in a personal way...and that is what he is there for, but he has not done very much for the general population in the borough....and that is what he is paid to do.
He has gone against the wishes of the electorate in respect of getting our EU exit done with....because he personally is against it.....so while I am very pleased he has helped you....and probably others....he did not do it for the borough.
An MP has a responsibility to defend and support the region he represents.
This man doesn't cut it.

Like I said...if he had made a lot do specific differences to the town....brought in jobs, benefits to the infrastructure, housing developments....then he would have put on his flyer these achievements and specified them.
As for standing up and speaking in the House of Commons, he does very little of that either.
I will not be voting for him any time soon.
