I have had a break today from the studying, and I decided to get the bus to Manchester and do some christmas shopping. It's a good service, only £5 return, it would cost me that in petrol and parking.

I got there just before midday and I hit the shops. After buying a pressie for my youngest sister Alice I decided to look for a pressie for Sparks.

Men are hard work..... I had no idea what to buy him, just as I've no idea what to buy my dad. After about an hour of mooching around various shops, looking like a shoplifter, I finally found something. I hope he likes it.

I decided to sort the kids out and get all their pressies. I must have spent an hour in Daisy and Tom and the Disney store. I love toy shops, and I really have to try not to play with all the stuff. I could have kicked one of the shop assistants who interrupted me whilst I was playing with some lego....

I had a bite to eat and a glass of wine, these lone lunches are really quite good. You get to watch the world go by, nobody bothers you and it was really rather pleasant. I was quite tipsy when I got up to continue shopping. After buying a couple more pressies I headed off to the new Next..

I was in heaven........ This store is massive and after the liquid lunch I had to restrain myself from buying everything. I was very good though, and only got a cardigan for myself. After visiting the homewares section I got a pressie for my mate and left......but I'll be back.

By this time I was starting to struggle with the heavy bags. I still felt tipsy and had forgotten where I'd parked the car. It took me a minute to remember that I'd come on the bus. The fella on the NCP at the cathedral must of thought that I was some sort of moron.

After my usual 40 winks on the bus coming home, I ended up back in Accy. I have quite a lot of wrapping to do tonight. I do need to go back and get the rest of my pressies. The big wheel is there again this year. Me and Sparks went on it last year and when I saw it I realised how much I miss him. He normally comes with me. We'll have to go again when the christmas markets are on. They do this gluhwein on the market, which renders me totally incapable of speech. I couldn't even say thanks when Sparks picked me up off the floor in Daisy and Tom last year.....:D

I was giggling all the way through your blog, waiting for the inevitable 40 winks on the way home!
Glad you had a nice day to yourself.:)

I also love people watching. Expressions, body language, couples having tiffs, little kids looking bored or hanging on for dear life to their mum or dad. It's great. In fact prefer that to the shopping
