I am having a few probs with my computer.... it starts of fine then slows down and crashes.. I've had a blue screen a few times saying that something isnt installed properly but i havent installed anything.. I've tried system restore but it didnt work. it works for a little while then either crashes or i get the blue screen... Aleks thinks it might be the o/s thats not completely installed... I have no clue at all! :lamer:

Any one any ideas?

I have an idea. pm entwisi, or wait untill he sees your post! How helpful am I?

Blue Screen of Death.....
can be caused by poorly written device drivers, faulty memory or a corrupt registry, or the computer overheating........?

If ste's touched it then are you supprised?? lol

But not a good sign if youre getting blue screen, dont know much but I know thats not good and chances are it may need full install

I really need to know what it says on teh blue screen. There are many reasons why it can be doing this.

Have you added/changed any hardware or accessories lately?

What programs have you installed?

Do you download stuff using Peer2Peer? (Bittorrent, etc)

How up to date is your AV/firewall?

i will post it up next time it does it..... I have had a wireless card installed...erm..dont know about the rest... thanx entwisi

Right, Ive written down as much as i can but it doesnt give me enough time! Hopefully this will help....

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer

Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Technical info..

***STOP 0x0000001 DI (0x00000001, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000, 0x0000000)

then it says something about dumping memory....

Any of that mean anything?

oh, bit of a change of subject..... i think i met you in town the other day entwisi but someone forgot to tell you who i was and tell me who you were! lol

Pleaeseeeeeee do not tell me you are having trouble with my new provider am so looking forward to getting back online!!!!

nowt to do with ISp bernie.. Welcome back BTW

it sounds like teh driver for your network card is duff. what type of network card is it? USB or internal?

If its 'unplugable' then try using teh pC for an evening without it plugged in ( sorry if this means going back to a wired connection or even Shock Horror - no internet)

if this fixes it which i reckon it will then you need to get updated drivers for teh network card. what make/model is it and what version of windows are you using? XP/Vista/2000/98 etc

You were with aleks(or tadah as I always refer to) I assume?

Think I have just had the same problem? PC went to a blue screen and mentioned "kernel error" and dumping physical memory..... said if it was first time of seeing screen to turn off and restart, so i did. It has come back up (duh) , message said to uninstall any recent stuff, only things I have put on are an update msn and a virus thingy-Avast.
Any ideas?
I am on Windows XP and BTinternet.
