Here it is again....

Beacon of light
Overlooker
Well, it hardly seems like half an hour since I put away my two dinky trees and all the shiny glittery stuff....and here it is....back again.

If we stop feeding it mince pies, might it just go away and not return.
If we turned out the lights and pretended we were not in....would it go away....like Jehovah's witnesses?
No....I didn't think it would.

Christmas.....I think I am turning into Ma.
She did not much like Christmas....she tolerated it....then she suffered it.

It is going to be very strange not having her around to grumble about another Christmas card falling on her mat....from someone she had not sent a card to.
Asking me to make a nice card....sign it from her and pop it in the postbox...there's a love.

It is going to be strange not concocting a goodie box for her....searching out warm cardies from the charity shops(I know....she liked a new cardie, but it had to be second hand new).
Looking for satsuma that had the purple foil on them....buying pistachio nuts for her....and those tiny truckles of cheese in red wax jackets.
Buying loud and lairy socks for her.
Trying to pick up hints of what other things she might need....or like.

She loved these goodie boxes....I did one and Nicola did one....and we put our heads together to make sure that they did not have the same things in them.

Ma said it put her in mind of 'lucky bags' from days gone by....and she really enjoyed rummaging through them.

So, truly...I do not have much stomach for Christmas this year....I did not have much stomach for it other years....but this year...even less.

Never mind in just about three weeks it will be here...then gone....and back again in half an hour.

Always the first un is the worst, they dont get great by any means, but that first un is a real bitch imho.

Yes, it will be better if the sale of the house is completed.
Better still if the estate can be finalised.
Other than that Cashy, I will not be sad.
She had a long full life and she was ready to give it up....when nothing much gives you fun, when everything hurts...it really is time to go.
I have the joy of reading about our escapades and they still make me laugh...I have a great store of pictures and good memories. That is something that some do not have the privilege of.
I am lucky.

Good on yeh Margaret.all my pics vanished in transit back from spain, may have had a different view if still had em, but one will never know.

That is so sad Cashy.
I was looking at some lovely pics and Ma was full of smiles....and it made me remember the giggly evenings we had after dinner.
We were like two daft girls in the dorm.
