Whilst on another of our driving trips the other day, my accomplice and I was amazed at something we saw whilst waiting at the traffic lights at Guide.

We saw a girl wearing a full hijab and a full face burja, with just the eyes showing, in a driving school car.

There is nothing wrong with this per se, but if you failed your test the first time, what is to stop you sending your old granny to take the next test for you, or even your grandad?

Aye, but for them that like surprises this is perfect gear. I wonder if we'll ever get the chance to see VIrginia Monologues performed in Burka & Hajib?

i charge 150 for every driving test passed...

Come on, it just made me smile.....then think about the situation. With passport photographs now demanding that you can't smile and that you have to show both ears, and can't smile, how easy is it for these women to manage?

Dont give the a driving licence if they are not showing their faces. As it is classed as a form of ID how can they have a photo taken if not allowed to show their face in public. Seriously though if a picture is required then there must be someone who specialises in this kind of work.

:D :D :D :D :D the fact that you only nead to show your eyes,,,,,you can get up to all sorts of mischief......
seriously though .could you REALY take a driving test like that?

How do they get on in banks were you have to be able to see their faces? It would be no diferent than having a skid lid on.

I don't know.
I struggle convincing people that my signature is actually my signature, when I pay by a credit/debit card, because of the Parkinson's, and the resulting shakey scrawl.

there goes inflation again mani lol i used to work with a guy in the 70s who used to charge £50, and thats not bull.

What worries me as much as anything is, how clear is your vision when you're wrapped round like that? I do have some objections to this form of dress - if I go to Saudi, I have to conform to strict dress codes, so I can't wear what I want. Also in Saudi, women are not allowed to drive. At all. I do think that there is a case for insisting, if women want to be able to drive, they should conform to the UK dress code and leave the rest at home. Who was is said that you can't have everything?

Two very interesting points there from Rindy and Pendy. How can you identify someone in a photograph if only their eyes are showing? Do they have passport photos with only their eyes showing? Also I know that if I have my hood up on my coat when the weather is grim then I am more limited in what I can see and that's not as covering so can they really drive safely? Apart from restricted vision does it not also restrict their movement?

You know the funny thing when we were in Tunisia we only saw one woman dressed in the full covering outfit and she was a British tourist!

I posted this originally not to stir up anti-Islamic feeling, but mainly because it looked so funny as she came round the corner towards us, specs peering through the slit of the headdress, face pressed towards the windsceen. It was only after that I thought about how women that wear full Muslim dress prove their identity for offical needs like passports or driving tests.

thing is they are no better than hoodies.... they are just as able to commit crime ,,,,,NOT THAT I AM SAYING THEY WOULD.. just that they COULD...and be unditectable
