A flip side to my other thread on names :D

Any names you really dislike?

I know when choosing names for the kids it drove me mad! The one thing I always made sure of, was that the childs initials weren't going to be something dodgy ;) :D

Any friends given their child a name that made you have to stifle a giggle?

One of my friends called their baby Siobhan Simone .... nice names separately but together? ...... poor child

I used to hate my name when i was younger which is Adrienne, other kids used to say it was a boys name and i hated it, but as iv got older, i like having a different name to most.

It's ok for boys, but with girls you might have to change your name if you marry.

We had a cleaner in London called Maud Lynne.:D

I really like Adrienne for a girl .... like in the the Rocky film :)

I think most people hate their own names.

I hate my sons name being shortened to Tommy or Tom, I christened him Thomas and that is what he shall be called. I don't half get on my high horse about it lol!

Does anyone know a real life Richard Head or Ivor Biggon. Sandy Beach or Dusty Roads? :D

When I first moved to London I worked at Simpson's department store on Piccadilly. I had to serve a rather swishy little American man wearing a fur coat, who made Liberace look butch. I sold him his pink cashmere sweater, and took his credit card to charge.

How I kept my face straight, and didn't leave a damp patch on the carpet I don't know, as I got Gary Gay to sign for his purchase.:D

........... :rofl38: COOL! :D

Just had a quick Google these made me chuckle:

Dick Assman (properly pronounced "assmun"). Canadian service station owner whose name propelled him to international celebrity status in 1995.

Dick Trickle With a combined total of up to 1,200 wins in all racing forms to his credit, he has been called "America's Winningest Driver." ......... :D

LOL, I used to get that all the time at secondry school, they used to mimick the way rocky shouted Adrienne!

I had access to names in Accy (work)
Here are some which caused giggles:-
Isabella Tinkler
3 pensioner chaps who always came to the counter together (mates) -named Whewell (weewell) Whittle and Philpott
They are probably dead by now but I remember a child named Justin Case who is probably still living local -you might know him.

........... :rofl38:

Those are crackers Margaret :D

Justin is definitely one of the easy names to slip up with lol! :D

I had enough hassles with my last name thank you going through school. The kids changed the middle letters and made it into a totally different word - mind you one of the teachers did it once went bright red and couldnt apologise enough!!! :D
