A plan comes together. I have been busy lately, between us Sparky and I are planning our New Zealand trip in March. I can't wait to go back, it's a beautiful place. I have been e mailing motels for reservations, the hire car and ferry tickets to South Island are sorted now. Never got to South Island last time, but did a passable job of exploring the North. I stayed at my step brothers in Auckland and again we will be flying into Auckland and using their house as a base. It's different this time as our Lee and his family are coming back to the UK for a visit 2 days after we arrive, so we won't feel obliged to spend all of our time on the North Island with them. We have planned an itinery of where we want to go. Believe me, there is an awful lot of driving involved, but I sincerely believe that it is the best way to see the place. We have decided to drive from Auckland to Wellington and get the ferry across the Cook Strait to the South Island. We are stopping in Rotorua and Taupo on the way to Welly, so that will break up the journey. I now have to concentrate on finding motels on South Island. We are doing a full circuit of this island, hoping to take in some glaciers, fjords, jet boating and other adventures. I can't wait. I think the only thing getting me through the winter is the thought of this trip.
