It's been a terrible week, work wise that is. I wasn't half glad to finish on friday and have the weekend off, the first one in 3 weeks. I realised last night that I have spoken to the coroner's office more times than I have spoken to my family this week, so I went to visit my sister and niece last night.
My dissertation has remained untouched all weekend. The last thing I feel like doing is work stuff, but I really am going to have to pull my finger out.
Went to the Town Hall yesterday to have a gander at the Food and Drink festival. Me and Sparks were moseying round, tasting things
I hadn't had any lunch but managed to fill up on food samples, and they did have some lovely Lancashire cheeses in there..
On the way home, I suggested calling in at Althams for a couple of Australia brochures for next January. I have been looking at the prices of flights on the internet, and they are not good. With it being between Xmas and New Year when we want to set off, it is a lot more than what we paid for New Zealand. Sandra at Althams offered to go through some prices with us. She had a scout around and rung Gold Medal Travel. She came up with a cracking price which included 1 night outbound in Hong Kong and 6 nights in HK on the way back. We both really wanted to go back to HK. After a quick glance at each other for confirmation...........we booked it
I am soooooo excited now. We still have internal flights to book and we still have accommodation to book in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but what the hell.....we're going. My step brother is supposedly moving to Brisbane in July, so we might be able to crash with them. I have a mate who moved to Melbourne in January and she has offered to put us up for a couple of days. The travel agents reckon that finding accommodation in Sydney may be a problem because it's the Ashes cricket tour. Ashes tickets aren't on sale until June, so we will just scour the net and get in there early.....
There's nothing to lift your spirits like booking a holiday. I have almost forgotten about my bad work week. I am also off on monday and tuesday, so I do promise that I will try to do a bit more work on the dissertation.................I had my fingers crossed behind my back when I typed that.
